Privacy Policy

NetXSoft ("we", "us") provides the iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS application "kotsumi" (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how.

1. Summary

kotsumi is a habit-tracking tool. It requires no account, and we do not collect your name, address, phone number, or email address. The content of your habit records is never sent to or stored on our servers.

2. Information We Handle

2.1 Data you create in the App (never sent to our servers)

This data is stored only on your device and, if you enable sync, in your own private iCloud database. We have no access to it.

Purpose: Recording and displaying habits, calculating statistics, delivering reminders, and rendering widgets and Apple Watch complications.

2.2 Usage information (via Firebase Analytics)

The App uses Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase), provided by Google LLC, to understand feature usage and identify defects.

Information collected includes:

  • In-app events: habit created, checked in, archived, restored; paywall shown; purchase and restore success or failure
  • Device information: OS version, device model, language, country/region
  • App version, session counts, and engagement time
  • An app instance identifier assigned automatically by Google

Important: The events we send contain none of the content you enter — no habit names, no logged values, no notes. Events carry only the action type and a fixed value indicating where the action originated (main app, widget, or Apple Watch).

Purpose: Aggregate usage analysis, product improvement, and bug diagnosis.

This information is transmitted to servers operated by Google LLC. See:

2.3 Purchase and subscription information (via RevenueCat and Apple)

Paid features are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system, and subscription status is managed using services provided by RevenueCat, Inc.

  • All payment processing is handled by Apple. Neither we nor RevenueCat receives your credit card number or other payment details.
  • RevenueCat processes an anonymous user identifier, purchase/renewal/cancellation history, receipt data, and device and OS information.

Purpose: Unlocking paid features, restoring purchases, and determining subscription status.

3. iCloud Sync

The App can synchronize habit data across your devices using Apple's CloudKit.

  • Synced data is stored in the private database of your own iCloud account. We cannot read, retrieve, or delete it.
  • Sync can be turned on or off at any time in the App's settings.
  • With sync disabled, data remains on your device only.

4. Biometric Authentication (Face ID / Touch ID)

The App can lock itself behind your device's biometric authentication.

  • Authentication is performed entirely on-device through iOS LocalAuthentication.
  • We never collect, store, or transmit facial or fingerprint data. The App receives only a success or failure result.

5. Notifications

Reminders you configure are delivered as local notifications scheduled on your device. We do not send push notifications from our servers. You can change notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.

6. Apple Watch

Data exchanged between iPhone and Apple Watch travels directly between the two devices via Apple's Watch Connectivity framework and does not pass through our servers.

7. Disclosure to Third Parties

We do not disclose collected information to third parties except:

  1. With your consent;
  2. Where required by law;
  3. Where necessary to protect life, health, or property and obtaining consent is difficult;
  4. Where cooperation with a government body performing statutory duties is required and obtaining consent would impede those duties.

Transfers to the service providers described in Section 2 (Google LLC, RevenueCat, Inc., Apple Inc.) are processing engagements necessary to operate the App and are not treated as third-party disclosure.

8. Retention

  • Data on your device and in iCloud is retained until you delete it or uninstall the App.
  • Firebase Analytics event data is retained per Google's configured retention period, up to 14 months.
  • Purchase records held by RevenueCat are retained under that company's policy.

9. Your Choices

10. Tracking and Advertising

  • The App displays no advertising.
  • The App does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. No App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown.
  • We do not use the collected data to identify you personally.

11. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us using the details in Section 14.

12. Security

We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect information against loss, unauthorized access, and disclosure. Data on your device and in iCloud relies on the encryption and access controls provided by iOS and iCloud.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy as the law or the App's features change. Material changes will be announced in the App or on its App Store page. The updated Policy takes effect when posted on this page.
